In an effort to be more transparent andconnected to the American people, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)has created the "Energy Blog."
Secretary of Energy, Steven Chu introduced the blog and said it,along with other social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and YouTube, will allow people to see who the DOE is, what the DOE does, and why the DOE should matter to them. Chu also stated that these newmedia outlets will connect Americans to the Department of Energy increative and real-time ways.
The Energy Blog will provide updates for key announcements, events, and developments from the department, as well as offer insights andopinions from important members of the department.
In his blog post, Secretary Chu made it abundantly clear thattransparency, engagement, and accessibility are core values of thisadministration: "That’s not a promise for the future; that’s acommitment we’re putting into action today."
