Rivermoor Energy, a Newton, Mass.-based solar development and
investment firm specializing in commercial, government and utility
projects, plans to begin construction this month on what the company says will be the largest solar project in Boston.
Developed
and designed by Rivermoor, Fischbach & Moore Electrical Group and
Zapotec Energy Inc., the 240 kW project at the Boston Water and Sewer
Commission headquarters will connect to the NSTAR grid.
Leveraging
Massachusetts' solar renewable energy credits, construction and
installation of the $1.075 million project will take approximately
three months. When complete, the new solar energy system should produce
268,000 kWh of power annually, about 7% of the commission's current
power usage.
