HONG KONG, CHINA: China monocrystalline silicon solar ingots and wafer
manufacturer, Solargiga Energy announced that its 300kW photovoltaic
pilot project has commenced power generation successfully, which is as
another significant corporate development of the Group subsequent to
achieving turnaround in net profit with a profit margin of over 17
percent in the third quarter of 2009.
Capitalizing on its
advanced and proprietary know-how on the manufacturing of high
conversion and quality ingots and wafers, the Group has succeed in
obtaining the critical techniques in the manufacturing of terrestrial
BIPV power generating system, BIPV system, solar roof BIPV system, thin
film BIPV system and solar road lighting, marking an important step to
diversifying into downstream business.
Located in Binhai New
District, Jinzhou, this photovoltaic pilot project is constructed by
Jinzhou Jinmao Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of
Solargiga.
It is also regarded as the first photovoltaic
project in Liaoning Province and has earned the support of relevant
government departments in the provincial and municipal levels. An
opening ceremony was held on 3 November with numerous government
officials presented to witness this notable event.
Commencing
the construction in July 2009, the 300kW photovoltaic project was
completed in October 2009 with an annual power generating capacity of
420,000kWh. The project is expected to reduce coal consumption and
carbon dioxide emission by approximately 130 tonnes and 252 tonnes
respectively.
With a total floor area of 9,045 square meters,
this project comprises various photovoltaic modules, including
terrestrial BIPV power generating system, BIPV system, solar roof BIPV
system, thin film BIPV system and solar road lighting. The total
investment of the project is amounted to RMB12 million.
