Just a year after Sharp launched its solar-powered cellphone in Japan, the company is now taking it to China.

The company has announced that its solar cellphone will be available on the Chinese market from February, and it will be the first solar-powered mobile phone by Sharp for the overseas market.

The company will be introducing two models, the SH6220C and the SH6228C in China both of which will feature a Memory LCD. The Memory LCD is an energy-efficient display with high visibility in daylight. The phones will feature a large 2.9-inch LCD screen and a 5MP autofocus camera. Moreover, the phone’s solar panels will provide one minute of talktime and 2 hours of standby for every 10 minutes in the sun.
