Sanyo Canada Inc along with AVACOS Solar Energy has unveiled the first Canadian photovoltaic system combining Sanyo’ HIT Double bifacial solar PV modules and DuROCK Tio-Coat reflective roof membrane at DuROCK Alfacing International Ltd.’s headquarters in Woodbridge.

Sanyo’s HIT Double PV modules generate renewable power from both sides, resulting in up to 30% higher energy output than standard single-sided PV modules. The system is being touted to be ideal for carports, canopies and porch coverings.

Coupled with DuROCK Tio-Coat roof coating, which provides 89% solar radiation reflectivity and weather resistance, the system generates more energy using a reduced number of solar panels.
