Taalman Koch has designed a sustainable off-grid dwelling that utilizes a series of components prefabricated off-site to minimize construction waste, labor and maximize aesthetic quality.

Dubbed the itHouse, the small house aims to better the relationship of the occupant to the surrounding landscape. The off-grid sustainable house features glass walls and an open floor plan to let in natural light to reduce energy demands. The itHouse utilizes photovoltaic and solar thermal panels for electricity and heat. Energy efficiency is achieved in the house by passive heating and cooling systems.
